In short: C. Robin Wyatt, P.C. was founded in 1989 by Robin Wyatt, a former journalist and title insurance attorney who has personally presided over every closing the firm has handled since its first year in business.

Here's how C. Robin Wyatt, P.C. came to be, and why it still runs the way it does more than three decades later.

Growing Up in Decatur

I grew up in Decatur, Georgia with my brother. My father was from Atlanta and served in World War II, and he carried himself his whole life with the same quiet dignity that generation was known for; he treated everyone he met with respect, no exceptions. My mother was born along the Arkansas River in Arkansas, and she was a wonderful cook and gardener who also loved to sew and could make the most beautiful quilts. Between the two of them, I grew up around people who worked with their hands and took real pride in doing things well, whether that was a garden, a quilt, or an honest day's work. Before law ever entered the picture, I played semi-professional tennis, and to this day I'm still an avid gardener myself.

A Journalism Degree Came First

Before law school, I majored in journalism at the University of Georgia and went to work for the Walton Tribune in Monroe, covering sports and local government. Chasing down facts, sitting through county meetings, and explaining complicated local issues in plain language turned out to be good training for a legal career, even though I didn't know it at the time. To this day, I still think the best closing attorneys are the ones who can explain a title problem the same way you'd explain it to a neighbor.

Finding My Way to Real Estate Law

I earned my law degree at the University of Georgia as well, and afterward clerked for a Fulton County Superior Court judge before working for a general practice firm in Decatur, the kind of place where you learn a little bit of everything. It was there that I found myself drawn specifically to real estate and title work. That led to a position as legal counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company, where I specialized in real estate title issues and got a firsthand look at exactly how ownership disputes happen, and how they're avoided.

Opening the Firm in 1989

I earned my bar certification in 1979, but it took another decade of practicing law before I opened my own firm in 1989. In those early years, C. Robin Wyatt, P.C. focused heavily on title law, title insurance, and commercial real estate transactions, including a run of major commercial deals in downtown Atlanta during the building boom of the 1990s. It was a fast-moving, high-stakes environment, and it taught me how much a clean title search and careful paperwork actually protect people down the line.

Coming Back to Snellville

Over time, my focus shifted from big commercial deals downtown to residential real estate closings closer to home, here in Snellville and the surrounding Gwinnett County communities. It was a deliberate choice. I wanted to know the families and the properties I was working with, not just the paperwork. That's the version of the practice that exists today: a firm built around residential and commercial closings, wills, and title work for the people who actually live here.

More Than Three Decades Later

C. Robin Wyatt, P.C. has been open since 1989, and I've personally presided over every closing the firm has handled since day one. The staff who help run this office bring the same loyalty and work ethic I try to bring myself, values I picked up from my parents. That's still the standard we hold ourselves to at the closing table, whether it's someone's first home or their fifth. Outside the office, I still keep a garden going, a habit I owe to my mother, and I'm always happy to talk to clients about their own home projects, right down to what's growing in the yard. These days that conversation usually happens with my two American Eskimo dogs close by. When I do get away, I love traveling out west, and I've always had a special fondness for Missoula, Montana, where I've spent many summers with my nephew, David Wyatt, on horseback and touring the National Parks.
